Rules

Here at the SpringBoard Ideas Challenge, we try to keep it simple.  In general, follow these basic rules and you should be OK.

  1. Submit everything by the correct deadline!  These deadlines can be found under the Schedule of Events tab, in our “Dates to Remember” section on the homepage, or within the Official Competition Packet.
  2. Don’t include your name or school affiliation within your Mini-Business Plan!  That’s what the registration form is for.  We’re just trying to help you out by keeping it fair.  We don’t want there to be any judging bias.
  3. Follow all the formatting rules!  They’re there for a reason; again, we’re trying to help you out by keeping it fair.
  4. Don’t have a PowerPoint presentation prepared for your Oral Presentation!  We understand that you usually use a PowerPoint when you speak publicly, but that’s what SpringBoard is about – doing something you’re not used to.  That, and if we let everybody set up their slide show before their presentation, we’d get way behind schedule.  Remember, we could have as many as FORTY finalists!
  5. Multiple entries are OK!  In fact, we encourage it.  If you want to submit more than one idea, though, you’ll need to register more than once.  Also, you’ll need to pay a $10 registration fee for each idea.  Your registration form will look the same on each one except for the “Title” section; that should be different.  You’ll get a new participant number for every entry.
  6. Don’t plagiarize!  SpringBoard is about YOU and YOUR ideas; don’t cheapen the experience by using something that isn’t yours.

Those are the basics, but don’t forget to READ THE OFFICIAL COMPETITION PACKET!  There’s a lot of great information in there; it’ll help you out, we promise.
